Meet the members

The Red Rose Rockets formed in October 2002 and are based around the Preston/Blackpool area of Lancashire although we have team members from all over Lancashire and Greater Manchester. We are a fairly small but determined group, we aim to be competitive but most of all have fun; there's no room for blind ambition or individualism in this team, what we achieve we achieve together. We have come a long way in a short time and we currently run the two fastest teams in Lancashire, the Rockets (sub 19.00) and Rebels (sub 18.00).

We train weekly at ILPH Penny Farm, Blackpool (an equine rehabilitation centre) and compete regularly especially throughout the summer where we often spend our weekends all camped together at tournaments as a team, it's not all about the dogs!

Current team members are…

Tracey and Len Titterington (BFA members 1160 & 1161)

Len and Tracey have been competing in flyball now since 2001, previously running with the Fylde Coasters flyball team, they are founder members of the Red Rose Rockets.

Len is also the overall team captain and does the bulk of the administrative work as well as organising our training sessions and tournaments...we'd be lost without these two!

Dave Retford and Linda Herring (BFA members 1517 and 1518)

Dave and Linda joined us in January 2008 although we have known them and been friends on the flyball cicuit for a number of years beforehand.

They have two dogs competing...

Nikki Manley (BFA member 2059)

Nikki joined us around the end of 2004; she and Sam also do agility. Nikki is a very natural handler and regularly runs other team members dogs too...

Lucy and Jeff Hughes (BFA members 2117 and 2505)

Lucy and Jeff joined at the beginning of 2005; they had previously been doing agility with their dogs (still do!); Jeff is our chief boxloader (and a great job he does to) and Lucy is captain of the 'Rascals' (how apt!)

Sandra joined us in 2006 with Max. Max has trained up very quickly, we hope puppy Floyd will follow in his footsteps!

Bryan and Lynda Brookhouse (BFA members 3114 and 3115)

Brian & Linda have been competing in starters now for a couple of years; thy are always game for a laugh and only managed 1 night in a Tent before they bought a Caravan!!!!!!!!!!

The question is...will Emma make it out of starters before Alfie??!!

Rachel is currently our youngest handler, she runs her own dog Fly.

Chris and Jacqui joined us in 2007, they are currently training and running Charlie in starters as well as having new 'baby' Lolly to train when she's older!
